I've been writing and directing short films since I was blown away by Raiders Of The Lost Ark as a ten year old. Later I studied Film and English Literature at the University of East Anglia.

My professional career began directing pop videos, which led to TV commercials and more short films. My last short, The Librarian's Dream, won the BBC Talent Competition and - unusually for a short film - has been sold for broadcast in a wide variety of countries including the UK, Canada, Sweden, Japan, Spain and New Zealand. I never entered it into any film festivals, which was dumb, as it might have won a few prizes...

I'm currently directing Tormented, a horror comedy and my first feature film. It's due for a cinema release in the Summer of 2009.

I've directed commercials and corporates (for clients like Microsoft, Waitrose and the Irish Government) and I've also written music for commercials (for clients like Pepsi, Sony, and XFM).

I like walking on the beach and I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to computers.

Duncan Kenworthy, Producer of Notting Hill, Lawn Dogs, Four Weddings and a Funeral:

"Jon is a talented film maker with passion, imagination and strong technical skills, and the world of commercials is lucky to have him."

Simon Young, Head Of Sales & Acquisitions, Shorts International:

"Jon’s short films so far have delivered a distinct personal visual style, a mature and exciting cinematic vision which I feel fully deserves the opportunity to step up to making a long form feature... They are not attempts to create mini features but rather each has fully exploited the short format in order to emphasize a different aspect of his skills, as both a writer and a director."

Mark Tweddell, Creative Director, Host Universal:

"Jon is a man on a mission... He has energy, conviction and an understanding of film and actors. More importantly he respects the power of a good idea. I found working with Jon was like having a third member of a creative team - which is probably the best recommendation I can give."
